Objective: Educate attendees on how to access more patient data, communicate with other health care providers and improve their use of EMRs and integrated digital health tools to enhance patient care and practice efficiency
Stream 1: Advancing Patient Care Using EMRs
(Examples: EMR Tips, Tools and Toolbars; Specialist Use of EMRs; Proactive Cancer Screening and Preventive Care; Improving Chronic Disease Management; Patient Engagement;)
Stream 2: Leveraging Patient Data in Your EMR
(Examples: Improving Data Quality; Querying EMR Data; Using Data to Develop Programs in Your Practice; How to Generate Reports; Using Data for Research; Data Mining; Patient Cohorts/Population Health Management; Quality Improvement Plans; EMR/Data Migration;)
Stream 3: Integrating Existing and Future Innovations with Your EMR
(Examples: Innovative Uses of HRM, eNotifications, OLIS, eConsult, etc.; Mobile Apps; Voice Recognition Software; Billing Tools; Secure Email; Quality Dashboard; Patient Portals; Interfaces with Medical Devices; Improvements to Functionality; EMRs and AI;)
Stream 4: From Principles to Practice: Implementing Leading Practices
(Examples: Privacy & Security Training; Business Continuity; Disaster Recovery; EMR Retention and Retirement; Managing Complex Care Patients; Changes to Workflow; Data Governance in a Digital Health World; Using My EMR During a CPSO Assessment;)
Concurrent Session -20 minutes plus 10 minutes for questions (Max: 500 words. Limited to 2 presenters)
Panel Session - 45 minutes plus 15 minutes for questions (Max: 500 words. Limited to 3 presenters)
While every effort will be made to accommodate requests for concurrent and panel sessions, OntarioMD reserves the right to change the session format for successful submissions (e.g., from panel to concurrent session).

- Product sales pitches are not appropriate. Sessions are CME-accredited and therefore, only abstracts that are educational and based on the mature use of EMRs or digital health tools integrated with EMRs are eligible for consideration.
- To maintain neutrality during the judging process, please do not mention the EMR vendor or product name in your abstract.
- Vendors with certified EMR products may not submit abstracts.
