EMR Certification – Stage 3

Validation, Foundation and Functional Categories

EMR offerings that have successfully completed Stage 2 will undergo validation activities for ALL specifications listed in the jurisdictionally relevant current Certification Release for the Foundation and Functional categories.

 Stage 3 will involve the following:

1. Execution of validation scenarios based on the specifications listed in the current EMR Certification Release within the Foundation and Functional categories. This activity will be conducted either in-person at the OntarioMD office in Toronto or remotely via collaboration tools based on the schedule provided in Stage 2;
   
   
2. Prior to execution of the validation process, the EMR vendor will need to ensure that their EMR offering has been loaded and configured with the set-up data as per the instructions provided by OntarioMD in Stage 2;
   
   
3. Upon receipt of the second milestone payment of $15,000+HST¹, the execution of validation activities for this stage will commence.
   
   
4. The submission of a copy of a letter or certificate, confirming the successful completion of conformance testing with one or more commercial laboratories, if applicable to the relevant Certification Release and jurisdiction.

Evaluation Overview 

Stage 3 will be evaluated on the following items. Meeting the Mandatory Criteria listed in the table below is a pre-requisite for proceeding to the next Stage of the EMR validation process.
