OMD is pleased to bring you our CME accredited - OMD Educates: Digital Health and Virtual Care Curriculum. These sessions will be conducted by OntarioMD Peer Leaders and experts with a focus on education and clinical enhancements using digital health and virtual care tools.

This Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada for up to 2 Mainpro+ credits.

Physicians must complete the evaluation to receive their CME certificate. At the end of the curriculum participants should have a better understanding and knowledge of digital health and virtual care tools and how to best implement to benefit their practice and patient care.

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the SOGC. You may claim a maximum of 1.0 hour (credits are automatically calculated) for each 60 minute webinar and 1.5 hours for each 90 minute webinar.

Privacy and Security

In this second session of OntarioMD’s annual Privacy Training Program (2022), our General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer will provide an overview of five fundamental practices that can be implemented by clinicians to improve their Cybersecurity posture. This topic was selected by popular demand and will include straightforward examples and instructions on how to adopt each of these practices. Privacy and Security

OMD's General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer will provide an overview of up-to-date privacy and cybersecurity best practices, with an emphasis on digital health and virtual care. This session will include advice from the Canadian Communications Security Establishment in response to cyberthreats arising from the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The presentation will also summarize key updates from the new Physician Services Agreement. There will be plenty of time for you to ask your privacy and cybersecurity questions at the conclusion of the presentation.

Targeting Patient Populations in Primary Care: A Practical Approach

Learning Objectives: 

  • The importance of identifying a specific patient population and how it relates to your practice (Examples: Chronic Disease, Smoking, Diabetes Management, Mental Health, COVID-19 Vaccination Status, etc.).

  • Which digital tools and external reports are available to aid in identifying a specific population (Examples: MyPractice Reports, SARS, Insights4Care (i4C) Dashboard, Searches, EMR specific tools, etc.).

  • Practical tips on how to find and use these tools in Accuro® EMR, PS Suite EMR and OSCAR McMaster (OSCAR PRO).

This session will include a panel discussion and Q&A followed by virtual breakout room workshops for Accuro EMR, PS Suite EMR and OSCAR McMaster (OSCAR PRO) users that will give you a better understanding of the tools and how to integrate them into clinic workflow
