OntarioMD (OMD) supports physician practices in the selection, implementation and adoption of electronic medical records (EMRs) and other digital health and virtual care tools. Health Report Manager (HRM)/eNotifications

HRM® delivers medical record and diagnostic imaging reports electronically from hospitals and specialty clinics straight into your EMR. It has been recognized for its value to Canadian digital health by national health informatics leaders through multiple awards. HRM's eNotifications feature also lets you know when your patient has been discharged from the Emergency Department or admitted or discharged from in-patient unit in near real-time so you can take action if needed.

OMD continues to add sending facilities and report types to HRM (e.g., CAMH psychological reports, Ontario Telemedicine Network telehomecare reports, positive COVID-19 lab result notifications from OLIS as well as COVID-19 vaccination reports from the COVaxON system.).

Ontario Laboratories Information System (OLIS)

OMD can connect you to Ontario Health - Digital Service's OLIS and show you how to incorporate it into your workflow. OLIS gives your practice: 

  • Access to the latest lab results so you can make more informed clinical decisions for your patients
  • The ability to perform patient queries
  • The ability to coordinate care better between clinicians
  • Better workflow and less paper lab results

Health Card Validation (HCV)

Register to become a user of to access the Ministry of Health's Health Card Validation database. 

  • Validate the eligibility of a patient's health card against the ministry's databases in real-time; response time is within a few seconds
  • Receive a response code which indicates the patient's health card number status and OHIP eligibility

EMR Certification and Vendor Management Program

OMD assesses, monitors and manages EMR vendors and their products for compliance with the Ontario EMR Specifications - so you don't have to. Our comprehensive, trusted certification and vendor management program, the only one of its kind in Canada, ensures you will have better access to innovative, provincially-compatible electronic health information products and services - integrated right into your certified EMR! 

Digital Health Services Bundle

Sign up for multiple digital health services at once for your convenience and to save you valuable time. OMD can enrol you and your staff for a bundle of digital health services that includes Ontario Health's ONE ID and OLIS, HRM, and the Insights4Care Dashboard. We can also enrol you in eConsult during the same visit on behalf of Ontario Health-Ontario Telemedicine Network and the Ontario eConsult Centre of Excellence.

Insights4Care Program 

Clinicians understand the importance of patient data and quality improvement initiatives for their practice and patient care, but are often constrained by a lack of time and resources. OMD's Insights4Care (i4C) Program aims to fill this gap by offering the i4C Dashboard and i4C Advisory Service to help clinicians make practice improvements and unlock the value of their EMR data for better patient outcomes. The Dashboard provides visual representations of high-value clinical indicators across patient rosters, at-a-glance and on one screen. The Dashboard is currently used by more than 1,500 physicians and is expanding across Ontario. The i4C Advisory Service is available to all users of certified EMRs, not only Dashboard users.

eConsult Deployment and EMR Integration

eConsult provides physicians and nurse practitioners with timely access to specialist advice and often eliminates the need to send patients for an in-person specialist visit. Through a private and secure web portal, requesting providers can send a specialist a clinical question about their patient and receive advice quickly and securely.
