OMD Launches Luminary Awards Celebrating Clinicians’ Use of Digital Health

July 28, 2021

OMD Luminary Award

Ontario's physicians, nurse practitioners (NPs) and practice staff have embraced the use of certified electronic medical records (EMRs) and other digital and virtual care tools to enhance patient care. For more than 15 years, OntarioMD (OMD) has worked with more than 21,000 clinicians and their staff to help them realize the benefits of EMRs and digital tools. Now, more than ever during the current pandemic, the importance and need for digital health tools to facilitate the flow of patient data to clinicians is in the spotlight. We've seen many successes and to show our admiration for physicians dedicated to digital health, NPs and their staff, we've launched the OMD Luminary Awards.

The OMD Luminary Awards honour clinicians and their staff who have demonstrated leadership to successfully implement certified EMRs and digital/virtual health tools in their practices to benefit their patients and ease the administrative burden on their practices. These tireless champions of digital health have overcome challenges and have persevered to leverage digital health to complement the individual ways they practice. Many have even shared their valuable insights and experience with their colleagues who have less experience to spread the advantages of digital health. OMD has seen first hand the impressive work clinicians are doing every day to care for their patients using digital/virtual care tools and our staff nominated several clinicians for the inaugural awards.
