Abstract Submissions

Overall Theme: From Potential to Practice (making digital health work for you and your patients)

Objective: Educate attendees on how to improve their use of EMRs and other digital health tools to enhance patient care and practice efficiency

Stream 1: Advancing Patient Care Using an OntarioMD-Certified EMR
(Examples: Tips & Tricks, Mature Use of EMR Systems, Quality of Care, Specialist Perspective, Preventive Care, Chronic Disease Management, Cancer Screenings, Improving Functionality)

Stream 2: Managing Patient Data in Your OntarioMD-Certified EMR (Examples: Data Quality, How to Use EMR Data, EMR/Data Migration, Retrieving Data, Uses of Data, Reporting, Research/Queries, Patient Cohorts/Population Health Management, Practice-Based Quality Improvement Efforts)

Stream 3: Integrating Existing and Future Innovations with Your OntarioMD-Certified EMR (Examples: Innovative Uses of HRM, eNotifications, OLIS, HCV, eConsult, Mobile Apps, Dictation Software, Billing Tools, Scanning, Digital Faxing, Medical Device Interfaces - VCG Machines, Blood Pressure Cuffs)

Stream 4: From Principles to Practice: Implementing Leading Practices (Examples: Privacy, Security, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Records Management, Records Retention, Complex Care, Change Management, Governance, CPSO Assessments) 

Submission Options:

  • Concurrent Session - 20 minutes plus 10 minutes for questions (Max: 500 words. Limited to 2 presenters)
  • Panel Session - 45 minutes plus 15 minutes for questions (Max: 500 words. Limited to 3 presenters)
While every effort will be made to accommodate requests for concurrent and panel sessions, OntarioMD reserves the right to change the session format for successful submissions (e.g., from panel to concurrent session).

Submission Deadlines:

  • Submission Opens - April 2, 2018
  • Submission Closes - May 18, 2018
  • Applicants Notified - June 2018

Guidelines:

  1. Only abstracts that are based on the mature use of OntarioMD-certified EMRs or digital health tools integrated with EMRs are eligible for consideration. 
  2. To maintain neutrality during the judging process, please do not mention the EMR vendor or product name in your abstract.
  3. Vendors with certified EMR products may not submit abstracts.
